Terre des hommes Romania organized the first virtual networking meeting with the partner schools within the project ’The Initiative ’NOROC in Education’ – A NOrwegian – ROmanian Initiative for Quality in Education’, the NOROC project benefits from a grant provided by Norway through the Norwegian Grants within the Local Development Program.
One of the main objectives of the project is to improve the quality of educational services, respectively to ensure children’s access to fair and quality education by supporting and implementing measures to prevent school dropout. Within the project, a network of partner schools was created with the help of which several activities will be carried out, such as: the selection of the target group, active participation in the development and implementation of a complex teacher training program, in the development and implementation of a program of intervention on children at risk of dropping out of school, supporting children with special educational requirements and activities with students and their families.
At the same time, during this meeting, the method of selecting the teachers who will participate in the trainings, respectively in the work visit from Norway, was explained. Also discussed were the MGS methodology developed by Terre des hommes that contributes to a better connection between students, school, family and community, the best practice guide, plans and integrated programs of measures, coaching and mentoring for parents of children with SEN (special educational requirements).
Terre des hommes coordinates the implementation of the project and provides support to schools in establishing a procedure for identifying and monitoring children at risk of dropping out of school, provides training and counseling for teachers in the field of improving the quality of educational services, transferring working methods experienced in other projects. ASCHF-R Vâlcea Branch ensures the training of teaching staff in working with children with CES and FAFO, the Institute of Labor and Social Research ensures the transfer of good practices from Norway and the evaluation and monitoring of the project, transferring its own methods to the Romanian partners.
The project ’The Initiative ’NOROC in Education’ – A NOrwegian – ROmanian Initiative for Quality in Education’ benefits from a 998.000 € grant from Norway through the Local Development Program. The aim of the project is to improve the quality of educational services, especially in rural areas in 5 counties of Romania.
