From March to April 2023, Terre des hommes Romania held in Râmnicu Valcea, Baia de Fier and in Bacau, a training course on working techniques for children at risk of dropping out of school and special educational needs (SEN). The training course focused on the non-formal education methodology MGSC – “Movement, Play, Sport and Creativity”.

The course lasted three days and was addressed to more than 75 teachers and young mentors involved in the NOROC project. The training aimed at developing the personal, social, methodological and technical skills of the participants, with the aim of improving the psychosocial skills of children and increasing their school integration.

The trainees appreciated the methodology, as it stimulates children’s creativity and approaches play as a psychosocial tool for developing psychosocial skills and preventing school drop-out.21

“It was a very nice experience. I met teachers who are passionate about their work with children, sensitive pedagogues with love for children. Last but not least, I really enjoyed meeting young volunteer mentors, so eager to help and get involved in the community.” Cristina Vlădescu, trainer specialized in MGSC, Terre des hommes Romania.
