The child’s needs come first (they choose which extracurricular activities they want to participate in and how often)

7 June 2023

“The activities in afterschool programs enhance children’s vocabulary and social skills (they are prepared for life through various activities: nutrition, sports, art, sewing, ballet, etc.). Integrating parents into the process of supporting their child’s school attendance is important, as well as maintaining constant communication with the family to establish a relationship of mutual trust between the child and the school (incredere (RO) = trust (NO)). The afterschool program is a goal of the Romanian education system, and it has already been successfully implemented in some schools, bringing real benefits to the educational progress of children.

By offering extracurricular activities, students are given the chance to see that education is not only about core subjects but also about daily activities. This makes the learning process more engaging and reduces the dropout rate, which is a frequent issue in Romania.”
