Bustuchin Technological High School

The high school in Bustuchin commune is a high school with a technological profile in Gorj county. It coordinates a number of seven kindergartens, six primary schools, two secondary schools and one high school (day, SAM and evening high school). The town of Bustuchin is located at the edge of Gorj county, at a distance of 45 km from the railway (Târgu-Cărbunești) and 70 km from TG-JIU, the seat of the county.

In the town of Bustuchin, the first school was established in 1838 in the village of Pojaru de Sus (today Zăvelceşti), the level of education being primary. In 1962, the secondary school was built in the center of Bustuchin Commune, known at that time as the Pojaru School with classes I-VIII. In the period 1975-1982 it became the School with classes I-X, the compulsory education being 10 classes.

In the period 1982-1990, the study of education of 12 compulsory classes was introduced in the school, obtaining a school with classes I-XII. Starting with 1990, the name of the school became the one that is still preserved today, respectively Bustuchin Industrial School Group.
